As part of the MLS Common Backend conversion, certain customized and user-specific items in FlexMLS will not automatically transfer to the new system.
FlexMLS Items That Will NOT Convert
The following FlexMLS items will not convert due to system architecture differences and legacy customization limitations:
- Incomplete (partial) listings
- General preference selections
- Custom quick search templates
- Custom views
- Custom exports
- Saved sorts
- Custom reports / business cards
- Market areas
What This Means for You
If you use any of the items listed above, you will need to recreate them after the conversion. The new Common Backend uses standardized tools that do not support automatic migration of user-level customizations.
What You Should Do Before the Conversion
- Complete or remove any partial listings
- Document your general preference settings
- Take screenshots of custom searches, views, and reports
- Export or note custom exports you rely on
- Write down saved sort logic (fields and order)
- Record market area boundaries you want to recreate
FAQs
What happens to incomplete (partial) listings?
Partial listings will not convert. They must be completed or removed before the conversion.
Will my saved searches still work?
Standard saved searches are expected to convert, but custom quick search templates will not.
Why don’t general preferences convert?
Preference settings are user-specific and built on legacy structures that do not map directly to the Common Backend.
Can I recreate my custom views, exports, and reports?
Yes. After conversion, you can recreate these items using the standardized tools available.
Do market areas convert?
No. Market areas must be recreated after the conversion.
Who should I contact if something doesn’t look right?
Contact MLS Support with your listing number, screenshots, and a description of the issue.
